The Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) was conceptualized during a free Christmas dinner at my favorite restaurant, Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. If it weren’t for that dinner given to me by Lachi’s owners, Mike and Melvin Aviles, we would not have a DFAT. It is no wonder that Lachi’s is one of the highlights of every DFAT.

DFAT 2010 was no different. The DFAT 2010 Team had dinner at Lachi’s and got the best gift any sweet-lover could get, a dessert bar.

Wanna make a simple sweet treat for a children’s party but you don’t have much time or skills? Try making these chocolate-covered marshmallows that we made for my niece Paige’s birthday party.

First, make a ganache. WHUUUT?! According to Joy of Baking, the French term ganache refers to “a smooth mixture of chocolate and cream.” Melting chocolates would usually require you to use a double boiler. However, this recipe we devised doesn’t require that.

I’m not a big fan of uncooked bananas. But serve it with ice cream, nuts, syrup, and cream, and I will eat it in record time. I love ice cream. Ergo, I loooove banana splits.
