Lachi’s Dessert Bar

The Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) was conceptualized during a free Christmas dinner at my favorite restaurant, Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. If it weren’t for that dinner given to me by Lachi’s owners, Mike and Melvin Aviles, we would not have a DFAT. It is no wonder that Lachi’s is one of the highlights of every DFAT.
DFAT 2010 was no different. The DFAT 2010 Team had dinner at Lachi’s and got the best gift any sweet-lover could get, a dessert bar.
At the center of the dessert table was a New York Style Cheesecake. The topping was a combination of cherry and blueberry. Lachi’s became one of my favorite restaurants, in part, because of their cheesecakes. They don’t do shortcuts. They serve baked cheesecake. A yummy one.
Lachi’s also serves various cheesecakes varieties such as choco vanilla and sour cream. One of their more unique and popular cheesecakes is their Durian Cheesecake. Why? Because it’s rich, creamy, and heavenly. It’s a dessert that even those who don’t eat durian can appreciate. And it was one of the favorites of the DFAT Team 2010.
Another cake that we all enjoyed is Kuya Andrew‘s favorite, Creme Brulee Cake. It consists of two layers of sponge cake with whipped cream in between and topped with a layer of creme brulee. The cake consists of different layers of sweet flavors and soft and light textures.
The piece de resistance of the dessert bar was, of course, the sans rival. Layer upon layer of light and crispy cashew meringue and buttercream sprinkled with cashew nuts… it was the perfect way to celebrate food. It is the pastry that made Lachi’s popular and a much sought after dining destination and dessert bar provider.
Lachi’s also served tortes and cakes: Symphony Torte, Cashew Mocha Torte, Regal Chocolate Torte, Five Chocolate Torte, Dark Premium Choco Cake, and Roasted Walnut Choco Supreme Cake. Each cake was a showcase of varying textures and flavors that delighted the diners. Lachi’s also gave samples of their chocolate bars: Dark and White, White Chocolate Macadamia, and Dark Choco.
The sugar rush and the happiness from the many sweet temptations made the diners very happy and excited to go back to Lachi’s. Some of them even went back to buy some goodies to bring to their families and friends in Metro Manila.
Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. also caters dessert bars for private functions, events, and special occassions.
Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. is open Mondays to Saturdays. They are located at VAL Learning Village, Ruby Street, Marfori Heights, Davao City. For reservations and inquiries, you may reach them at this number: +63916-9841183.
