If you have eaten Japanese cuisine several times, chances are you have tried Sukiyaki. Sukiyaki is a noodle soup which centers around tender thin slices of beef cooked on a pan-grilled on a skillet.

The dish contains the beef, noodles, Chinese cabbage, carrots, Shitake mushrooms, and tofu. The ingredients are arranged in such a way that the the textures, flavors, and colors are appetizing. The soup is flavored with soy sauce, sugar, and mirin.

Most Japanese restaurants serve Sukiyaki in a hot pot or stove right on the table so the soup is cooking in front of you. The diner then has to add a raw egg to the soup to add another layer of flavor to it.
